Abstract:

Ve své bakalářské práci jsem se rozhodla zabývat jedním z nejvýraznějších náboženských hnutí africko-amerického islámu – Národem islámu. Bakalářská práce je případovou studií, která se soustřeďuje na chronologický vývoj Národa islámu a klade důraz především na rasovou problematiku a politické aktivity, případně jeho politický vliv. Cílem práce tedy je popsat chronologický vývoj hnutí a jeho vztah k rasové problematice, dále popsat politické aktivity Národa islámu a snažit se nalézt a popsat možný politický vliv hnutí. Pro správnou orientaci v práci a její plné pochopení je také nutno zohlednit kontext amerického prostředí, někdejší rasové problémy a specifický africko-americký islám, který je s americkým prostředím velmi úzce a nedílně spjat. Práce se také podrobněji věnuje jednotlivým čelním představitelům a vůdcům Národa islámu, kteří měli na vývoj, formování a směřování hnutí největší vliv.

Abstract:

In my bachelor thesis, I‘ve decided to deal with one of the most pronounced religion movements of the African-American Islam – the Nation of Islam. This thesis is a case study that concentrates on a chronological development of the Nation of Islam, while putting special emphasis on racial issues and political activities, as well as the political influence of the movement. Therefore, the aim of the thesis is to describe the chronological development of the movement and its relation to racial issues, and also to describe the political activities of the Nation of Islam and to trace possible political influence of the movement. For the better understanding of the thesis and an easy orientation in the topic, it is also necessary to take the context of the American discourse into account, former racial issues and the specifics of African-American Islam, which is very closely and inseparably connected to the American environment. The thesis also, in great detail, discusses the influence of several head representatives and leaders of Nation of Islam on the formation and development of the movement.
