The impact of the Ukrainian migration crisis on accommodation facilities in the South Moravian Region

Abstract:

Územní spor mezi Ukrajinou a Ruskem trvá již velmi dlouho. Vyvrcholil dne 24. února 2022, kdy Rusko zahájilo invazi na Ukrajinu. Tato událost měla za následek vznik masivní migrační vlny, kterou zaznamenala i Česká republika. Tato práce se zabývá vlivem krize na ubytovací zařízení různých kategorií, konkrétně v Jihomoravském kraji. Hlavním cílem práce je tyto dopady identifikovat a porovnat na základě různých charakteristik ubytovacích zařízení. Pro splnění cíle byl sestaven dotazník, obsahující otázky spadající pod management podniku, a také byl proveden s vybranými podniky hloubkový rozhovor. Výsledná data byla interpretována za pomoci grafů a tabulek se slovními komentáři a na jejich základě byla formulována jednotlivá doporučení pro efektivní fungování.

Abstract:

The territorial dispute between Ukraine and Russia has been going on for a very long time. It culminated on 24 February 2022, when Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine. This event resulted in a massive wave of migration, which was also experienced by the Czech Republic. This paper examines the impact of the crisis on accommodation facilities of different categories, specifically in the South Moravian Region. The main objective of the thesis is to identify and compare these impacts on the basis of different characteristics of accommodation facilities. In order to meet the objective, a questionnaire was constructed containing questions falling under the management of the establishment and also an in-depth interview was conducted with the selected establishments. The resultant data was interpreted with the help of graphs and tables with verbal comments and on the basis of the data, individual recommendations for effective functioning were formulated.
