Social construction of social workers work with positive emotions in the relationship with parents with physical disabilities

Abstract:

Diplomová práce zkoumá sociální konstrukci práce sociálních pracovníků s pozitivními emocemi ve vzájemném vztahu s rodiči s tělesným postižením. V teoretické části jsou představeny klíčové koncepty sociální konstrukce, kterými jsou kategorizace, diskurz a idealizace. Dále se práce věnuje pozitivním emocím a technikám, které s pozitivními emocemi pracují. Další kapitola je zaměřena na sociální práci, konkrétně na sociální práci s rodiči s tělesným postižením. Poslední kapitola představuje možnosti uplatnění technik práce s pozitivními emocemi u rodičů s tělesným postižením v sociální práci. Výzkum práce je kvalitativní a byl realizován polostrukturovaným rozhovorem s pěti sociálními pracovníky a pěti rodiči s tělesným postižením. Získaná data jsou interpretována na základě otevřeného a axiálního kódování. Výsledky interpretace ukázaly, že sociální pracovníci a rodiče s tělesným postižením konstruují práci sociálních pracovníků s pozitivními emocemi jako práci, která má klienty podporovat, motivovat a klást důraz na empatický a otevřený přístup.

Abstract:

This thesis examines the social construction of social workers´ work with positive emotions in the relationship with parents with physical disabilities. In the theoretical section are introduced the key concepts of social construction which are categorization, discourse and idealization. The thesis further focuses on the positive emotions and attention is also paid to the techniques that work with positive emotions. Another chapter is focused on social work and describes the specifics of social work with parents with physical disabilities. The last chapter presents possibilities of work with positive emotions in social work among parents with physical disabilities. The research is qualitative, semi-structured interviews were conducted with five social workers and five parents with physical disabilities. The obtained data are interpreted on the basis of open and axial coding. The results interpretation showed that social workers and parents with physical disabilities constructed work of social workers with positive emotions like work supporting and motivating clients and which should put the emphasis on empathetic and open approach.
