Rhytisma acerinum on maple trees in North Moravia: monitoring of occurrence of symptoms.

Abstract:

Tato práce poskytuje souhrn dostupných informací o výskytu symptomů svraštělky javorové ? Rhytisma acerinum (Pers.) Fr. a o jejich možných hostitelích z rodu Acer. Výzkum byl založen na terénní práci na území statutárního města Ostravy a jeho okolí a následné analýze 2745 stromových jedinců. Výsledkem je odlišný výskyt symptomů houbového patogenu v různých kategoriích vegetace v závislosti na znečištění ovzduší. Statisticky dokázána byla i různá preference druhů javorů. Nejvíce infikovanými taxony byly Acer pseudoplatanus L., Acer platanoides L. Acer pseudoplatanus f. purpureum, Acer platanoides 'Globosum'. Předchozí taxony jsou také nejvhodnějšími kandidáty pro využití k monitoringu čistoty ovzduší. Z výsledku testování závislosti množství stromat na ontogenezi hostitelských dřevin vyplývá, že s věkem klesá nakažení, a to především v přírodních oblastech, kde šíření semen není nijak omezováno.

Abstract:

Available information about occurrence of symptoms of tar spot ? Rhytisma acerinum (Pers.) Fr. and its possible hosts of Acer spp. are summarized in this thesis. The research was established on field work at the territory of statutory City of Ostrava and its surroundings and on the analysis of 2745 tree individuals. Different occurrence of symptoms of fungal pathogen in different categories of vegetation in dependence of air pollution is the result. Different preferences of Acer spp. by tar spot was statistically proved. Acer pseudoplatanus L., Acer platanoides L. Acer pseudoplatanus f. purpureum, Acer platanoides 'Globosum' were the most infected taxa. The best candidates for monitoring air pollution are the previous taxa. The younger individual, the higher infection ? this comes out from the result of testing dependence of stroma quantity on ontogenesis of host trees, mainly happening in natural areas where the spread of seeds is not restricted in any way.
