Aspects of Axillary Skin Care

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřená na popis axilární oblasti, tedy oblasti podpaží. S využitím odborné literatury a výsledků nejaktuálnějších vědeckých studií přibližuje anatomii oblasti, vysvětluje fyziologii pocení a s ním spojený pachový podpis a axilární mikrobiom. Část práce je věnovaná mechanismům deodorace a redukce axilárního potu včetně kosmetologických přístupů. Porovnává antiperspiranty a deodoranty spolu s jejich vzorovým složením. Je zde nastíněná problematika týkající se různých technik odstraňování chloupků a metod léčení hyperhidrózy. Popsány jsou přínosy, specifika a rizika v péči o axilární oblast.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is focused on the description of the axillary region, i.e. the axillary area. Using the literature and the results of the most recent scientific studies, it presents the anatomy of the area, explains the physiology of sweating and the associated odour signature and axillary microbiome. Part of the work is devoted to mechanisms of deodorization and reduction of axillary sweat, including cosmetological approaches. It compares antiperspirants and deodorants along with their sample formulations. Issues relating to various hair removal techniques and methods of treatment of hyperhidrosis are outlined. The benefits, specifics and risks in axillary care are described.
