Trends in Management and their Usage in Manager’s Practices

Abstract:

SLAHUČKOVÁ, Kristína. Trends in Management and their Usage in Manager´s Practices [A bachelor thesis]. The Institute of Hospitality Management. Prague : 2017. 72 pages. The Bachelor Thesis focused on Trends in Management and their Usage in the Practice of a Manager was selected because of the importance of management as a basis for the successful leading of a modern enterprise and its and prosperity. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to identify the most important modern trends in management based on the processing of literary research. Through an analysis of selected businesses, verify their usability in the manager's practice and, on the basis of the results, design and formulate recommendations for the effective use of modern management trends. Based on the study of the literature and the elaboration of the theoretical part, the following hypotheses are formulated: H1: Trends in management are linked to the goal of slashing a business. H2: Trends in management are mainly used by managers in human resource management. To verify the hypothesis, the qualitative method of obtaining information was used through an interview. The research sample consisted of 4 hotels in the center of Prague. The choice of them was based on judicious choice using hotel‘s websites. Another criterion for selecting was the customer‘s rating on TripAdvisor. After detailed analysis, the information are developed and published in clear graphs and spreadsheets. These data served to develop the final, design part of the thesis. The result of the work is, that most of the trends have found their application in the hotel industry. Both hypotheses were confirmed. The work provides some suggestions for each of these trends. One of the general proposals is the regular training of managers using external services. SLAHUČKOVÁ, Kristína. Trendy v manažmente a ich využitie v praxi manažéra [Bakalárska práca] Vysoká škola hotelová. Praha : 2017. 72 strán. Bakalárska práca na tému Trendy v manažmente a ich využitie v praxi manažéra, bola vybraná kvôli dôležitosti manažmentu ako základ pre úspešné vedenie a prosperitu moderného podniku. Cieľom bakalárskej práce je identifikácia moderných trendov v manažmente na základe spracovania literárnej rešerše. Prostredníctvom analýzy vybraných podnikov overiť ich využiteľnosť v praxi manažéra a na základe výsledkov navrhnúť a formulovať odporúčania pre efektívne využívanie moderných trendov v manažmente. Na základe štúdia literatúry a vypracovania teoretickej časti sú formulované nasledujúce hypotézy: H1: Trendy v manažmente sú spojované s cieľom zoštíhľovania podniku. H2: Trendy v manažmente využívajú manažéri hlavne v riadení ľudských zdrojov. Pre overenie hypotéz bola využitá kvalitatívna metóda získavania informácií a to prostredníctvom rozhovoru. Výskumnú vzorku tvorili 4 hotely z centra Prahy. Ich výber podliehal úsudkovému výberu s využitím internetových stránok hotelov. Ďalším kritériom výberu bolo hodnotenie zákazníkov na stránkach TripAdvisor. Zistené informácie sú po podrobnej analýze vypracované a zverejnené v prehľadných grafof a tabuľkách. Tieto dáta slúžili k vypracovaniu záverečnej, návrhovej časti práce. Výsledkom práce je zistenie, že väčšina trendov si našla uplatnenie v odbore hotelierstvo. Obe hypotézy boli potvrdené. Práca poskytuje návrhy na každý z uvedených trendov. Jedným zo všeobecných návrhov je pravidelné školenie manažérov s využitím externých služieb.
