Abstract:

Tématem diplomové práce je literární rozbor prací dvou amerických autorek Delphine Red Shirt a Virginie Driving Hawk Sneve. První část práce popisuje, jak se ústní tradice původních obyvatel Severní Ameriky odráží v dílech obou autorek. Druhá část analyzuje, jaká je pozice žen z původních severoamerických kmenů v jejich vlastní společnosti. Třetí část nabízí rozbor dvou historických událostí viděných očima původních obyvatel Ameriky.

Abstract:

The thesis analyzes life writings by two Native American authors Delphine Red Shirt and Virginia Driving Hawk Sneve. The first part describes how Native American oral tradition is reflected in the life writings and how both women incorporate a Native language into narratives. In the second part it is analyzed how gender is constructed in Native American society and the position of Native American women in Native American and American society is examined. The last part focuses on two historical events which both women describe from the Native American perspective.
