Diabetic foot syndrome - awareness and position of patients with DM

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá informovaností a postojem pacientů s onemocněním diabetes mellitus k syndromu diabetické nohy a jeho prevenci. Práce je tvořena ze dvou částí ? teoretické a praktické. V teoretické části je definován SDN, jaké jsou jeho příčiny, rizikové faktory, diagnostické a léčebné metody a jak SDN předcházet. V praktické části se zajímám o to, zda diabetici znají pojem ?syndrom diabetické nohy?, zda byli o tomto syndromu poučeni odborníkem a zda diabetici dodržují léčebný režim včetně diety. Dále v průzkumu zjišťuji zda lékař či sestra vyšetřuje diabetikům jejich dolní končetiny a zda diabetici ví, jaká jsou preventivní opatření SDN, a zásady správné péče o dolní končetiny. Z výsledků práce vyplývá, že většina mužů a žen je více či méně o SDN informována, přesto by neškodila větší informovanost. Ze strany lékaře o SDN jeho projevech a následcích a ze strany sestry o správné hygienické péči o dolní končetiny.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the awareness and attitudes of patients with disease of diabetes mellitus for diabetic foot syndrome and its prevention. The work consists of two parts - theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part diabetic foot syndrome (DFS) is defined, what are its causes, risk factors, diagnostic and therapeutic methods and how to prevent DFS. In the practical part we are interested to know whether diabetic term "diabetic foot syndrome" is known among patients, whether they were advised about this syndrome and if they observe the therapeutic regime, including diet. In addition, we try to find out in the survey if a doctor or nurse examine diabetics their legs and if the diabetics know what are the preventive measures DFS, and the principles of good care of the lower limbs. The results of the work show that a majority of men and women is more or less informed on the DFS, but more information would be nice. From the doctor on the DFS and its manifestations and consequences, from the sisters on the good hygiene care of lower limbs.
