Supervision over the financial market in the Slovak Republic

Abstract:

The bachelor work is dealing with supervision of the financial market in the Slovak republic. The aim of this work is to analyze the development of supervision of the financial market in Slovakia and subsequently make a proposal of perspective of the development of supervision of the financial market. The first part of the bachelor work determines the characteristic of a particular financial market, it describes the components by which the market is created, the functions which the market should fulfil and the subjects which affects the market. The second chapter analyzes the development of supervision of the financial market from the year 2000 to the year 2005 when supervision was executed by the Financial Market Authority of the Capital market and the insurance. A part of the second chapter deals with the development of supervision of the financial market from the year 2006 when supervision started to be executed by the National Bank of Slovakia and it analyzes in detail the performance of this supervision up to year 2011. The third chapter emphasizes the need to perform the financial market supervision and as a good perspective in the development of supervision accentuates the international cooperation of the National Bank of Slovakia with the authority performing supervision in the area of the financial market.

Abstract:

Bakalárska práca sa zaoberá dohľadom nad finančným trhom Slovenskej republiky. Cieľom práce je analyzovať vývoj dohľadu nad finančným trhom na Slovensku a následne navrhnúť perspektívy vývoja dohľadu nad finančným trhom. Prvá časť bakalárskej práce vymedzuje charakteristiku samotného finančného trhu, popisuje zložky, ktoré ho tvoria, subjekty, ktoré na tomto trhu pôsobia. Druhá kapitola analyzuje vývoj dohľadu nad finančným trhom od roku 2000 po rok 2005, kedy dohľad nad poisťovníctvom a kapitálovým trhom vykonával Úrad pre finančný trh. Časť druhej kapitoly sa zaoberá vývojom dohľadu nad finančným trhom od roku 2006, kedy dohľad začala vykonávať Národná banka Slovenska nad celým finančným trhom a podrobne analyzuje výkon tohto dohľadu až po rok 2011. Tretia kapitola zdôrazňuje potrebu vykonávať dohľad nad finančným trhom a ako perspektívu vývoja dohľadu navrhuje medzinárodnú spoluprácu Národnej banky Slovenska s orgánmi výkonu dohľadu v oblasti finančného trhu.
