Fluid circulation inside container designed for high active waste

Abstract:

V Centru experimentální geotechniky (CEG) na stavební fakultě České vysoké učení technické probíhal v letech 2002 do roku 2006 experiment simulující ukládání vyhořelého jaderného paliva v kontejneru vyplněném bentonitovou směsí jako geotechnickou bariérou. Po realizování experimentu bylo prokázáno, že došlo k ustavení nehomogenního geochemického pole. Stejně tak bylo vytvořeno nehomogenní teplotní pole. Cíl práce byl zaměřen na vyhodnocení cirkulace fluid v kontejneru, na směry a rychlost proudění a ovlivnění proudového pole teplotou v experimentální nádobě. Při řešení úlohy byl použit počítačový program k modelování proudění podzemní vody a přenosu tepla SHEMAT. Matematické modelování potvrdilo pravděpodobné vytvoření konvekčních cel podél topného tělesa s různou rychlostí proudění v závislosti na hydraulických a tepelných vlastnostech bentonitové směsi a na fyzikálních vlastnostech vody.

Abstract:

Experiment simulating the storing of spent nuclear fuel in the canister filled by bentonite mixture took place in the Center of experimental Geotechnics (CEG) on the construction Faculty of the Czech Technical University duringthe years 2002 to 2006. After the realisation of the experiment it was shown, that both non-homogeneous geochemical and temperature field were established. The main aim of the work was focused on the evaluation of the fluid flow characteristics inside the container, especially on the directions and flow velocities influenced bythe increased temperature. Numerical modeling using the SHEMAT computer code was used to simulate the fluid flow. Mathematical modelling confirmed the probable formation of the convection cells along the heater with varying speeds depending on the hydraulic and thermal properties of the bentonites mixture zone and on the physical properties of .
