Intermarriages in Judaism

Abstract:

Diplomová práce pojednává o vývoji problematiky smíšených manželství v judaismu od biblických dob až po současnost. Zaměřuje se zejména na překážky spojené s uzavřením smíšeného manželství v judaismu. Dále se zabývá různými typy domácností ve smíšených manželstvích ve Spojených státech amerických a náboženskou výchovou potomků v těchto jednotlivých domácnostech. Popisuje současný pohled na smíšená manželství ve Spojených státech amerických a zhodnocuje tuto situaci. Nakonec popisuje výhledy do budoucna na problematiku smíšených manželství.

Abstract:

My diploma thesis describes intermarriages from the historical point of view and focuses on the obstacles in those marriages which are : the ban of contracting of intermarriage in the history, conversion, wedding ceremony and impurity of the non-Jews. This thesis also describes the Jewish Marriage Law in Hebrew Bible and Talmud. In the last part of my thesis is written about the contemporary problems of intermarriages in USA and the last chapter describes the view of Intermarriages in the future.
