Sacral Space and its Symbolic: Comparison of St. Barbara in Kutna Hora and the Church of Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence

Abstract:

Předmětem bakalářské práce je komparace dvou architektur reprezentujících umělecké styly pozdní gotiky a rané renesance: chrámu sv. Barbory v Kutné Hoře a chrámu Santa Maria del Fiore ve Florencii. Srovnání obou staveb je založeno na formálně-stylové analýze jejich výtvarné a architektonické stránky a s pomocí kulturně-historické interpretace jsou demonstrovány jednak odlišnosti pojetí posvátného prostoru, jednak rysy, které jsou oběma stavbám společné. Pozornost je věnována také oběma architektům, tvůrcům pozdně gotické/raně renesanční dostavby (B. Ried, F. Brunelleschi). Při zpracování tématu je využito metod: formální analýza architektonického díla, uměleckohistorický popis, rešerše a studium historické a uměleckohistorické literatury a komparace získaných informací s výsledky samostatného studia výtvarné stránky obou objektů.

Abstract:

The subject of the thesis is the comparison of two architectures representing the artistic styles of the late Gothic and early Renaissance : St. Barbara in Kutna Hora and the Church of Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence. Comparison of the two structures is based on a formal- style analysis of art and architectural sites and with cultural and historical interpretation are demonstrated on the one hand differences concept of sacred space and also features that are common to both buildings . Attention is also paid to both architects and creators of late Gothic / early Renaissance completion (B. Ried , F. Brunelleschi ) . The topic is utilized methods: formal analysis of architectural work , art-historical information , research and study of historical and art historical literature and comparison of information obtained with the results of the independent study of both art objects.
