Abstract:
Tato diplomová práce se zabývá účelem trestání. Je zde definován pojem trestu, včetně jeho funkcí a účelu. Poměrně rozsáhlá část práce je věnována teoriím ospravedlňujícím trestání – konsekvencialismu a retributivismu. V jednotlivých kapitolách jsou tyto směry blíže charakterizovány. The present Master's thesis deals with the purpose of punishment. The concept of punishment is defined here, including its functions and purposes. Extensive part of the thesis deals with theories of justification of punishment - consequentialism and retributivism. These theories are further described in the particular chapters.
