Stratis Myrivilis byl jedním z nejvýznamnějších představitelů tvorby generace 30. let v Řecku. K jeho nejvýznamnějším dílům patří trilogie věnující se problematice první světové války. Právě kniha Život v hrobě z roku 1924 je prvním dílem této trilogie. Dalšími díly jsou Učitelka se zlatýma očima a Královna moře. Abstract:
Stratis myrivilis was one of the most important representatives in the literary history of 20th century in Greece. To his major works belongs the trilogy about World War I. Life in the Tomb from the year 1924 is the first book of this trilogy. The others are The Schoolmistress with the Golden Eyes and The Mermaid Madonna.
