Konkurenční výhoda pro banku, která se rozhodne poskytovat služby krypto podnikům – teorie her

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce analyzuje vztah krypto podniků a bank. Banky všude po světě mají dnes tendence se těmto krypto podnikům vyhýbat a označují je za rizikové zákazníky. Cílem této práce bylo pokusit se zjistit, zda by bance mohlo přijímání těchto zákazníků přinést konkurenční výhodu. Tato práce se dělí na čtyři kapitoly. První kapitola popisuje současnou situaci krypto podniků ve vztahu k bankám ve světě a slouží jako úvod do celé problematiky. Tato kapitola také definuje hlavní důvody neochoty bank přijímat krypto podniky. Druhá kapitola porovnává situaci krypto podniků s konopným průmyslem, který donedávna čelil podobným obtížím. Třetí kapitola se věnuje teorii her a je v ní popsán a sestaven model užitý pro výpočet konkurenční výhody v modelových situacích. Poslední kapitola se zaměřuje na trh České republiky a zjišťuje, zda by některá z bank operujících v České republice mohla získat konkurenční výhodu poskytováním svých služeb místním krypto podnikům. Výsledky této práce naznačují, že konkurenční výhoda pro banku z přijímání krypto podniků může existovat, ale pro banky není moudré, ani výhodné začít přijímat krypto podniky jako zákazníky bez nutné přípravy. Situace v České republice naznačuje existenci takové konkurenční výhody, jelikož se tři banky již oddělily od ostatních a jsou ochotny přijímat většinově krypto podniky jako zákazníky, zatímco většina bank se jim spíše vyhýbá.

Abstract:

This thesis aspires to analyze the issue of underbanking virtual currency businesses (VCBs) around the world from both the banks’ perspective and the VCB perspective and attempts to conclude, if there can be a competitive advantage for any bank that decides to start banking VCBs. The thesis is divided into 4 chapters. The first chapter is dedicated to the current situation of banking VCBs around the world. It serves as an introduction to the topic and defines the main issues causing the reluctance of banks to accept VCBs as customers. The second chapter compares the situation of VCBs with the cannabis industry that has faced similar scrutiny until recently. The third chapter is dedicated to a game theory model that is used to calculate the potential competitive advantage a bank could gain on the market. The last chapter focuses on the market in the Czech Republic to find out if any Czech bank could profit from opening itself to the VCBs. The results of the thesis suggest that a competitive advantage can exist but it is unwise for any bank to start accepting VCB customers unless they made the necessary preparations. The situation in the Czech Republic suggests that three banks have already separated themselves from the rest and are banking VCBs, while the other banks mostly avoid them.
