Importance of calcium in nutrition laying hens

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá minerální výživou nosnic, zejména významem vápníku. K pokusu byly použity slepice hybrida Bovans Brown od 16. týdne věku, které byly krmeny směsí s obsahem vápníku 42,15 g/kg a indikátorem oxidem chromitým. Cílem bylo zjistit retenci vápníku před snesením prvního vejce a v první fázi snášky. Pokus trval do 29. týdne věku nosnic. Průměrná retence vápníku v období před snáškou byla 36,57 % a v den snesení prvního vejce se zvýšila o 12,3 %. Maximálních hodnot, okolo 64 %, dosahovala mezi 40 – 60 dny po snesení 1. vejce. Průběh retence vápníku od 43 dní před snesením 1. vejce po 73 dní po snesení 1. vejce lze vyjádřit polynomickou rovnicí 3. stupně:y = -0,0001x3 + 0,0026x2 + 0,5292x + 45,876; R² = 0,89Množství vápníku zadrženého v těle se však v průběhu snášky měnilo minimálně. Před snáškou byla průměrná denní retence Ca 1,45 g, v období snášky 1,41 g.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is concerned with the mineral nutrition of laying hens, especially the importance of calcium. Experiment was carried out on Bovans Brown laying hens, from 16th weeks old to 29th weeks old of layer. Layers were fed a mixture with 42,15 g calcium in kilogram feed mixture and added chromium oxide as indicator. The aim of this work was determine retention of calcium in the pre-laing period and retention of calcium in first stage of laying. The average calcium retention in the pre-laying period was 36.57% and increased by 12.3% in the daily collection of the first eggs. Maximum values, around 64%, reached between 40 - 60 days after laying the 1st egg. The course of calcium retention from 43 days before laying of the 1st egg to 73 days after collection of the 1st egg can be expressed by a polynomial equation of the 3rd degree:y = -0 0001x3 + 0.0026x2 + 0.5292x + 45,876; R2 = 0.89The amount of calcium in layer´s bodys varied minimally. Before laying, the average daily Calcium retention was 1.45 g, during the laying period 1.41 g.
