Specifics of perioperative care for people with mental disability

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje tématu "Specifika perioperační péče o osoby s mentální disabilitou". Osob s tímto postižením stále přibývá. Každé zdravotnické zařízení by mělo být jak personálně, tak technicky připraveno na osoby ať už s mentální nebo jinou disabilitou. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí, teoretické a výzkumné. Teoretická část popisuje perioperační péči, mentální disabilitu a specifika perioperační péče o osoby s mentální disabilitou. Cílem výzkumného šetření je zjistit, jak jsou zdravotnická zařízení připravena na klienty s mentální disabilitou. Šetření bylo provedeno kvantitativní a kvalitativní formou. Kvantitativní šetření bylo realizováno pomocí dotazníků ve vybraných zdravotnických zařízeních, jejichž vedení s výzkumem souhlasilo. Kvalitativní část byla uskutečněna pomocí rozhovoru. Výzkumné šetření vzniklo v rámci Studentské grantové soutěže Univerzity Pardubice 70150/20/SG740002.

Abstract:

My diploma thesis deals with the theme "Specification of Peri-operational Care for People with Mental Disability". The number of people with such affliction is increasing all the time. Each healthcare facility should have trained personnel and be technically ready for people with mental or other disability. This work is divided into two parts: theoretical and explorative. The theoretical part is describing a peri-operational care, mental disability, and particularities of peri-operational care for people with mental disability. The goal of my research was to find out about readiness of hospital facilities for patients with mental disabilities. The research was carried out in a quantitative and qualitative form. The quantitative survey was completed with the help of questionnaires in selected healthcare facilities whose management agreed with the study. The qualitative part was accomplished through interviews. This research was created within the Student Grant Competition of University of Pardubice 70150/20/SG740002.
