Analysis of physics textbooks with a focus on optics

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na analýzu učebnic fyziky pro sedmý ročník základní školy, speciálně na látku světelných jevů. Účelem této studie je především rozbor devíti vybraných a užívaných učebnic fyziky, a to z pohledu vnějšího rozsahu a dále pak po stránce vnitřního obsahu. V rámci obsahu látky optika ve všech učebnicích fyziky jsou vybrány nejčastěji se vyskytující pojmy a zařazeny do výzkumného šetření. Hlavním cílem tohoto šetření je zjistit skrze oslovené učitele fyziky, do jaké míry je dle jejich názoru pojem na pětistupňové škále důležitý, pochopitelný a zajímavý. Účelem tohoto zjištění je nastínit, zda je obecně vhodné na základě těchto tří aspektů pojmy v učebnicích uvádět. Výsledky tohoto šetření mohou být využity při další tvorbě učebnic fyziky jako doporučení pro výběr a zařazení pojmů z optiky.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is focused on the analysis of physics textbooks for the seventh grade of primary school, especially on the subject of optics. The purpose of this study is primarily to analyse nine selected and used physics textbooks, both in terms of external scope and in terms of internal content. Within the content of optics in all physics textbooks, the most common terms are selected and included in the research survey. The main aim of this survey is to find out, via the analysis of opinions expressed by the addressed physics teachers to what extent in their opinion the term is important, understandable and interesting on a five-point scale. The purpose of this finding is to outline, whether it is generally appropriate to include concepts in textbooks based on these three aspects. The results of this survey can be used for further creation of physics textbooks as recommendations for the selection and classification of terms from optics.
