Interest of UJEP students in using e-bikesharing services in Ústí nad Labem

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce si pokládá za cíl zjistit zájem studentů Univerzity Jana Evangelisty Purkyně v Ústí nad Labem o využívání e-bikesharingových systémů a objasnit motivace či překážky, jež pro využití této služby shledávají. Zájem o téma udržitelné dopravy roste, zvláště mezi mladými lidmi, kteří environmetálním problémům věnují více pozornosti než starší generace. Důkazem je i vytvoření několika e-bikesharingových systémů na akademické půdě z iniciativy studentů po celém světě. Bakalářská práce zodpovídá stanovené otázky s využitím výsledků dotazníkového šetření realizovaného mezi studenty a zaměstnanci UJEP. Dotazník byl v online podobě a odkaz byl distribuován na e-mailové adresy studentů v květnu 2022. Získaná data byla zpracována a kategorizována nejprve pomocí popisné statistiky a následně 2 testu nezávislosti, Kruskal-Wallis testu a logistické regrese. Z výsledků je patrné, že studenti UJEP o službu e-bikesharingu prozatím nejeví zájem, přičemž jedním z důvodů může být nedostatečná informovanost o fungování systému sdílených elektrokol. Práce představuje důležitý podklad zaměřený na zjištění prvotního zájmu o využívání sdílených služeb v Ústí nad Labem a může případně napomoci v rozhodování o zavedení e-bikesharingových služeb, ať už soukromými organizacemi či správou města. Pro zvýšení zájmu o tento environmentálně příznivější způsob dopravy je potřeba zesílit povědomí studentů o alternativních módech dopravy.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis examines interest of students enrolled at Jan Evangelista Purkyne University in e-bikesharing services usage and identifies motivation and obstacles they deem for using the services. The topic of sustainable transport advances in drawing public's attention, with predominantly young people being more heedful of environmental issues. At the instigation of students, there are several e-bikesharing services established on campuses worldwide. The paper answers the questions using results of a questionnaire survey of students and staff at the UJEP. The survey was conducted online via a web form and distributed to students' e-mail addresses in May 2022. The collected data was processed and classified with descriptive statistics along with chi-squared test, Kruskal-Wallis H test, and logistic regression. The results reveal students are not attentive to e-bikesharing at the UJEP yet, possibly due to lack of awareness about functioning of an e-bikesharing system. The study presents valuable data for the initial analysis of interest in use of shared services in Usti nad Labem as well as for eventual help in decision-making on e-bikesharing services introduction either by private organizations or the city administration. In order to improve attentiveness to this more environment-friendly mode of transport, it is needed to raise students' awareness about alternative modes of transport.
