The Map of Liberec for Students and its Thematic Layers - Data Acquisition and Innovation

Abstract:

Práce je sestavena z teoretické i praktické části. Teoretická část práce začíná přehledem literatury zaměřeným na pohled na geografii času, mentální mapování a mapové projekty obsahující tematické vrstvy pro mapy měst. V práci jsou popsány i zdroje na projekty jiných autorů, které jsou založeny na stejných principech jako projekt "Studentova mapa Liberce" a jejich využití v předložené práci. Podstatnou složkou práce je praktická část popisující hlavní objekty geografického mapování v Liberci. Na mapování se podílel i autor práce. Geografické objekty neboli body zájmu (Points of Interest, tj. POI) jsou v práci podrobně popsány s využitím kartografického nástroje "tematické vrstvy" a podle nich jsou opsány návrhy na datové struktury včetně postupů inovace a aktualizace dat. Praktická část práce je zaměřena na popis prostředí (tabulky, obrázky), které studenti využívají při mapování. Tyto informace jsou počítačovým odrazem geografických dat reálného světa.

Abstract:

The thesis consists of the theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part of the thes is starts with a literature review focusing on the geography of time, mental mapping, and mapping projects containing thematic layers for city maps. The thesis also describes sources for projects by other authors that are based on the same principles as the "Student's Map of Liberec" project, and their use is also mentioned in the following thesis. An essential part of the thesis is the practical part describing the main objects of geographical mapping in Liberec. The author also participated in the mapping. Geographical objects or points of interest (POI) are described in detail in the thesis using the cartographic tool "thematic layers." According to them, the proposals for data structures are described that include data innovation and updating procedures too. The practical part of the thesis is also focused on the description of the environment (tables, images) used by the students for mapping. This information is a computer reflection of real-world geographic data.
