Interpersonal relationships in the intensive care unit

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou interpersonálních vztahů na jednotce intenzivní péče. Kvalitně odvedená práce a spokojenost pacientů jsou odrazem dobrých interpersonálních vztahů na pracovišti. Teoretická část popisuje interpersonální vztahy z pohledu psychologů, sociologů a manažerů. Cílem empirické části byla analýza interpersonálních vztahů mezi zaměstnanci na jednotce intenzivní péče Úrazové nemocnice v Brně. K analýze interpersonálních vztahů jsme využili kvalitativní výzkumnou metodu. Informace o interpersonálních vztazích jsme získali prostřednictvím strukturovaného rozhovoru od 12 zaměstnanců (10 všeobecných sester a 2 sanitářky) tohoto pracoviště. Výsledky rozhovorů byly zpracovány pomocí otevřeného kódování. Výsledky šetření nám odhalily silné i slabé stránky a rezervy v interpersonálních vztazích. V závěru práce jsem se věnovali návrhům a možnostem, které by vedly ke zlepšení a upevňování interpersonálních vztahů mezi pracovníky vybrané jednotky intenzivní péče.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of interpersonal relationships in the intensive care unit. Well-done work and patients´ satisfaction reflect good interpersonal relationships in the workplace. The theoretical part describes interpersonal relationships from the perspective of psychologists, sociologists, and managers. The aim of the empirical part was to analyse the interpersonal relationships between employees in the intensive care unit of the Trauma Hospital in Brno. We used a qualitative research method to analyse interpersonal relationships. We obtained information about interpersonal relationships through a structured interview from 12 employees (10 general nurses and 2 paramedics) of this workplace. The results of the interviews were processed using open coding. The results of the survey revealed us the strengths and weaknesses and reserves in interpersonal relationships. At the end of the work, we focused on proposals and opportunities which would lead to the improvement and consolidation of interpersonal relationships among employees of a selected intensive care unit.
