Existuje morální právo na druhé referendum o nezávislosti ve Skotsku?

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce analyzuje legitimitu druhého referenda o skotské nezávislosti. V práci je použita plebiscitní teorie a příklady uskutečněných referend v jiných zemích. Definován je také postoj mezinárodního práva vůči referendu. Případ Skotska je porovnáván se secesionistickými územími Katalánsko, Quebec a Nová Kaledonie. Na tato referenda o nezávislosti jsou aplikovány různé podmínky stanovené v plebiscitní teorii. V práci jsou představeny důvody Skotska pro nezávislost a odmítavý postoj britské Konzervativní strany. Práce zahrnuje také výroky politických elit ve Skotsku a ve Spojeném království. V závěru je zhodnocena možnost dalšího referenda o skotské nezávislosti.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis analyzes the legitimacy of the second referendum on Scottish independence. The thesis uses plebiscite theory and examples of the referendums of other countries, which have already been held. The position of international law towards the referendum is also defined. The case of Scotland is compared with the secessionist territories of Catalonia, Quebec and New Caledonia. Various conditions set out in the plebiscite theory are applied to these independence referendums. The thesis presents Scotalnd's reasons for the independence and the dismissive attitude of the British Conservative Party. The thesis also includes statements made by political elites in Scotland and in the United Kingdom. In Conclusion, the possibility of another referendum on Scottish independence is evaluated.
