Corpus of the rap songs and the anglicisms : typology of adoptions

Abstract:

This diploma thesis treats anglicisms in French slang, concretely, in French rap songs. 32 songs from the RapCor rap songs corpus were the matters starting point in which 30 substandard lexical elements taken - over from English have been excerpted. In theoretical section the author pursues the loans generally and pays more attention to the anglicisms issue. In separate chapter the author pursues the musical style of rap. The goal of this diploma work is to examine English loans in light of frequency, that is, depending on the interpreter and on the position within the framework of the text. Anglicisms are further examined from the semantic point of view, where emphasis is made on the degree of adaptations of meaning by the passage of the word from English to French. In the final section the adaptation of anglicisms is examined from the lexicographical point of view. Corpus is therefore categorized according to various degrees of adaptation of English loans into French slang. On the whole this diploma work is trying to get in to understanding of the nature of English loans in contemporary language of teen - agers.

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce pojednává o anglicismech ve francouzském slangu, konkrétně, ve francouzských rapových písních. Materiálovým východiskem bylo 32 písní z korpusu rapových písní RapCor, ve kterých bylo excerpováno 30 substandardních lexikálních jednotek převzatých z angličtiny. V teoretické části se autorka věnuje výpůjčkám obecně a blíže se zabývá problematikou anglicismů. V samostatné kapitole se věnuje hudebnímu stylu rapu. Cílem práce je zkoumat anglické výpůjčky z hlediska frekvenčního, tj. v závislosti na interpretovi a na pozici v rámci textu. Anglicismy jsou dále zkoumány z významového hlediska, kdy je kladen důraz na míru přizpůsobení významu při přechodu slova z angličtiny do francouzštiny. V závěrečné části je adaptace anglicismů nahlížena z lexikografického hlediska. Korpus je tedy kategorizován podle různých stupnů adaptace anglických výpůjček do francouzského slangu. Celkově se práce snaží proniknout k pochopení povahy anglických výpůjček v současném jazyku mládeže.
