Evaluation of the Company’s Strategic Investments

Abstract:

Obsahem diplomové práce je zhodnocení strategických investic zvolené společnosti. V první části diplomové práce je definována investice, její princip, základní parametry investice a problematika investičního plánování v podnikatelském prostředí. Přiblížena je problematika investičního rozhodování a metody hodnocení investic. Tato část diplomové práce je zaměřena na jednotlivé metody a postupy, čerpané z odborné literatury. Tento metodický aparát je následně ve druhé části diplomové práce aplikován na účetní data společnosti. V praktické části diplomové práce je představena společnost a pohled na strategický vývoj investic v letech 2017-2020. Je provedena analýza investičních projektů pomocí statických a dynamických metod hodnocení. Finanční analýza podniku obsahuje horizontální a vertikální analýzu rozvahy a výsledovky, analýzu poměrových ukazatelů, rozbor bilančních pravidel, bonitní a bankrotní modely, Du Pontův rozklad, analýzu ekonomicky přidané hodnoty a mezipodnikové srovnání. V závěru diplomové práce je provedeno celkové shrnutí analýzy a uvedena jsou doporučení, která povedou ke zlepšení strategického řízení investic analyzovaného podniku. Cílem diplomové práce je vyhodnocení finanční situace společnosti TRIMA EDM s.r.o. ve vztahu ke strategickému řízení investic společnosti.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis focuses on the evaluation of strategic investment of a selected company. The first part of the thesis defines investment, its principle, basic investment parameters and issues of investment planning in the business environment. Further, the issues of investment decisions and methods of investment evaluation are presented. This part of the diploma thesis is focused on individual methods and procedures drawn from professional literature. This methodological apparatus is then applied to the company’s accounting data in the practical part of the diploma thesis. The second part of the thesis presents the company, a view on the strategic development of investments in the years 2017-2020. The analysis of investment projects is performed using static and dynamic evaluation methods. The company’s financial analysis includes horizontal and vertical analysis of the balance sheet and income statements, analysis of ratios, analysis of balance sheet rules, creditworthiness and bankruptcy models, DuPont’s decomposition, analysis of economic value added and intercompany comparison. At the end of the thesis, a general summary of the analysis is made and recommendations are given that will lead to the improvement of the strategic investment management of the analyzed company. The aim of the diploma thesis is to evaluate the economic impacts and financial situation of the company TRIMA EDM, Ltd. in relation to the company’s strategic investment management.
