Characteristics of zoonotic pathogens invading cells of the blood systém (Rickettsia sp., Anaplasma sp.)

Abstract:

Anaplasma sp. a Rickettsia sp. jsou rody zahrnující pleomorfní, obligátně intracelulární patogeny. Jednotlivé druhy těchto gramnegativních bakterií se specializují na určité krevní elementy. Konkrétně A. phagocytophilum, původce lidské granulocytární anaplazmózy napadá a množí se ve vakuolách neutrofilních granulocytů, kde vytváří tzv. moruly. Jako jediný druh dokáže napadat i lidské granulocyty a způsobovat závažná infekční onemocnění. Rickettsie naopak infikují a množí se v buňkách endotelu a způsobují řadu onemocnění, která se souhrnně označují jako rickettsiózy. V závěru práce bude porovnáno rozlišné působení obou patogenů na tyto buňky. Dále se v této práci nachází popis, současné členění obou patogenů a zejména pak druhy, způsobující závažná onemocnění člověka. Na základě aktuálních vědeckých publikací jsou uvedeny konkrétní případy nákazy v posledních letech. Je zde popsán také způsob přenosu jednotlivých druhů těchto bakterií na člověka, jejich rozšíření ve světě a také nejčastější metody jejich detekce.

Abstract:

Anaplasma sp. and Rickettsia sp. are genus including pleomorphic, obligately intracellular pathogens. Each species of these Gram-negative bacteria specializes in certain blood elements. Specifically, A. phagocytophilum, the causative agent of human granulocyte anaplasmosis, attacks and multiplies in the vacuoles of neutrophilic granulocytes, where it forms so-called morulas. It is the only one that can attack human granulocytes and cause serious infectious diseases. Rickettsia on the other hand infects and multiplies in endothelial cells and causes a number of diseases collectively referred to as Rickettsiosis. At the end of the thesis, the different effects of both pathogens on these cells will be compared. Furthermore, in this thesis there is a description, the current classification of both pathogens and especially the species causing serious human diseases. Based on current scientific publications, specific cases of the disease in recent years are presented here. It also describes the method of transmission of individual species of these bacteria to humans, their distribution in the world and also the most common methods of their detection.
