Introducing a system for information security management by ISO/IEC 27001

Abstract:

The goal of this diploma thesis is to provide a practical insight into the topic of information security management system implementation according to the standard ISO/IEC 27001. The first part of this thesis aims to introduce the company Dereon, s.r.o. in which the information security management system has been implemented as a part of this thesis. Next it determines the state of information security within the company before the implementation of the system and outlines the approaches selected for the implementation process along with the motivations for their selection. Lastly it defines the risk assessment methodology and demonstrates this methodology in practice and proposes the possible risk treatment measures. The second part of this thesis describes the implementation process of information security management system from the practical viewpoint via the means of consultation sittings during which the system documentation has been formed, risk treatment implementation inspections and auditing.

Abstract:

Cieľom tejto diplomovej práce je poskytnúť praktický pohľad do problematiky implementácie systému manažmentu informačnej bezpečnosť podľa štandardu ISO/IEC 27001. Prvá časť tejto práce sa sústredí na predstavenie spoločnosti Dereon, s.r.o. v ktorej bol systém manažmentu informačnej bezpečnosti v rámci tejto práce zavádzaný. Ďalej stanovuje stav informačnej bezpečnosti v čase pred zavedením tohto systému a popisuje postupy zvolené k jeho implementácii spolu s odôvodnením ich zvolenia. Na záver tejto časti práce sa stanovuje metodika analýzy rizík a demonštruje sa využitie tejto metodiky v praxi spolu s návrhom opatrení na redukciu miery odhalených rizík. Druhá časť práce popisuje proces zavádzania systému manažmentu informačnej bezpečnosti z praktického hľadiska formou konzultačných sedení v rámci ktorých bola vytvorená dokumentácia systému, kontrol postupu implementácie opatrení z plánu zvládania rizík a auditnej činnosti.
