Reactive adsorption of toxic organophosphates on composite materials based on metal oxides and aluminosilicates

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na přípravu nových kompozitních materiálů na bázi oxidů kovů s aluminosilikátem, za účelem zvýšení adsorpce toxických organofosforečných sloučenin (např. některých pesticidů a nervově paralytických látek) z vod a jejich degradace na méně toxické produkty. Součástí práce je literární rešerše zabývající se popisem vybraných pesticidů, jejich vstupu, mobilitou a osudem v životním prostředí a možnostmi jejich odstranění z vod. Dále se rešerše zabývá stručným popisem vytvořených oxidů kovů, jejich přípravou a použitím na čištění vod a možností jejich spojení s aluminosilikáty. Oxidy kovů (oxid titaničitý, oxid manganičitý, oxid ceričitý) a jejich kompozity s aluminosilikátem (sepiolitem) byly připraveny homogenní precipitační metodou ve vodném prostředí. Poté byly charakterizovány rentgenovou difrakční spektroskopií, infračervenou a Ramanovou spektroskopií, fyzisorpcí dusíku a elektronovým mikroskopem. Těmito metodami byly popsány jejich vlastnosti jako je fázové složení, dostupný povrch, porozita, velikost a tvar částic. Dále byly testovány adsorpční a degradační schopnosti připravených oxidů a jejich kompozitů, a to na vybrané modelové látce organofosforečné sloučeniny, paraoxon-methylem, za vzniku jeho degradačního produktu 4- nitrofenolu. Připravené oxidy kovů a jejich kompozity v závislosti na složení měnily své vlastnosti. Kompozity zvýšily účinnost adsorpce a degradace oproti čistým oxidům, a to jak z pohledu kinetiky reakce, tak i z pohledu míry stupně konverze.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the preparation of new metal oxide composite materials with aluminosilicate, to increase the adsorption of toxic organophosphoric compounds (e.g., some pesticides and nerve paralytic substances) from waters and their degradation to less toxic products. Part of the thesisis a literary search dealing with the description of selected pesticides, their entry, mobility and destiny in the environment and the possibilities of their water removal. Furthermore, the search deals with a brief description of the metal oxides formed, their preparation and use of water purification and the possibility of combining with aluminosilicates. Metal oxides (titanium dioxide, manganese dioxide, cerium oxide) and their aluminosilicate composites (sepiolitem) were prepared by a homogeneous precipitation method in aqueous medium. They were then characterized by x-ray diffraction spectroscopy, infrared and ramane spectroscopy, nitrogen physis, and electron microscope. These methods have been described by their properties such as phase composition, available surface, porosity, size and particle shape. Furthermore, adsorption and degradation capabilities of prepared oxides and their composites were tested, on selected model substances of organophosphoric compound, paraoxone-methyl to give its degradation product of 4-nitrophenol. Prepared metal oxides and their composites, depending on the composition, changed their properties. Composites increased the efficiency of adsorption and degradation compared to pure oxides, both from the perspective of the reaction kinetics and from the degree of conversion degree.
