Lexico-Semantic Analysis of a Specialized Text

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis examines an expert text on the role of marine mammals in the ecosystems of water bodies surrounding Canada. Therefore, the result will be an analysis from a lexicosemantic point of view which is mentioned in the title and from a morphosyntactic point of view as well. In addition to this analysis, the author also put a focus on theory related to the topic which is described in detail in the first part of the thesis. All findings are supported by examples which are mostly extracted from the original text or other sources that have been used in the thesis. This thesis also includes a glossary which consists of terms from the text. Apart from the Czech equivalents, the glossary was also enriched by Latin equivalents of individual biological and chemical phenomena.

Abstract:

V této bakalářské práci autorka analyzuje odborný text zabývající se postavením mořských savců v ekosystému ve vodách kolem Kanady. Výsledkem je tudíž rozbor onoho textu, a to jak z pohledu lexiko-sémantického, jak je zmíněno už v názvu, tak krátce také z pohledu morfosyntaktického. Kromě rozboru konkrétního textu se autorka v bakalářské práci zaměřila také na teorii, kterou rozebírá na první části práce. Veškeré uváděné teoretické poznatky ilustruje na příkladech. K tomu využívá povětšinou samotného textu, případně jiných zdrojů, ze kterých v celé práci vycházela. Autorka pro tuto práci sestavila rovněž glosář termínů vyskytujících se v textu. Tento glosář kromě českých ekvivalentů obohatila také o latinské názvy jednotlivých, zejména biologických a chemických, skutečností.
