Abstract:

Tato práce představuje komplexní výzkum a analýzu vazebných meziatomových interakcí v molekulách a supramolekulárních útvarech. Pozornost je věnována vlivu relativistické spin–orbitální interakce na chemické vazby, rozložení elektronové nábojové hustoty a vlastnosti magnetické odezvy. První část práce se zabývá mapováním interakční energie párů bází DNA pomocí dekompoziční metodiky IQA (Interacting Quantum Atoms) založené na teorii QTAIM (Quantum Theory of Atoms in Molecules). Výsledky poskytují posouzení energetické podstaty vodíkových vazeb v kanonických a umělých párech bází a ukazují, které oblasti v molekule hrají zásadní roli ve vazbě. Druhá část práce se zabývá vlivem strukturních změn a supramolekulárních interakcí na NMR posuny (𝛿) pomocí relativistické úrovně teorie. Je demonstrována nezbytnost zahrnutí vlivu spin–orbitální interakce (SO) pro přesnou predikci a reprodukci experimentálního NMR posunu u systémů s těžkými atomy (HA). Třetí část práce shrnuje naše zkoumání vlivu SO interakce na rozložení elektronové nábojové hustoty a délku vazby mezi těžkým atomem a lehkým atomem (HA-LA). Čtvrtá navazující část pak představuje naše první pokusy o propojení SO efektů na NMR posuny a magnetické proudy (J) s vlivem SO interakce na energii vazby HA–LA.

Abstract:

This thesis represents a comprehensive investigation and analysis of atom-atom bonding interactions in molecules and supramolecular assemblies. Attention is paid to relativistic spin–orbit effects on the chemical bonds, the distribution of electron charge density, and the magnetic response properties. The first part of the thesis deals with mapping of the interaction energy of DNA base-pairs using the IQA (Interacting Quantum Atoms) decomposition scheme based on QTAIM (Quantum Theory of Atoms in Molecules). The results provide an assessment of the nature of the hydrogen- bond interactions in canonical and artificial base pairs in terms of energy components and show which regions in the molecule play an essential role in the binding. The second part of the thesis deals with effects of structural changes and supramolecular interactions on the NMR shifts (𝛿) at the relativistic level of theory. It shows the necessity of including the spin–orbit (SO) effects in the calculations for the exact prediction and reproduction of experimental NMR shifts for systems with heavy atoms (HA). The third part summarizes our investigation of the SO effects on the modulations of electron charge density and bond length between a heavy atom and a light atom (HA– LA). The fourth follow-up part represents our first attempts to link the SO effects on the NMR shifts and magnetic currents (J) with the SO modification of energy of the HA–LA bond.
