Cieľom práce je poskytnúť komplexnejšie informácie o kresťanských minoritách v Alexandrii. Časť práce je venovaná vzniku a histórií kresťanstva v celej oblasti Blízkeho východu, nasledujúca kapitola popisuje vývoj kresťanstva v Egyptskej arabskej republike a v meste Alexandria.
