Psychometric properties of the MARSI and RSPS2 tools in the Czech socio-cultural background

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je ověřit funkčnost dotazníků MARSI (metakognitivní strategie) a RSPS2 (self-efficacy) v našem sociokulturním prostředí. Dílčím cílem je ověřit souvislost mezi všemi proměnnými - tedy mezi metakognitivními strategiemi a self-efficacy v oblasti čtení a hodnocením z předmětu Český jazyk a literatura u žáků na 2. stupni základních škol. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na charakteristiku vývoje v pubescentním období, dále vymezuje metakognici a self-efficacy. Praktická část obsahuje veškeré náležitosti, které se pojí s výzkumným šetřením. Nalezneme zde výzkumný problém, hypotézy, charakteristiku výzkumných nástrojů a výzkumného vzorku, dále je zde uvedeno kognitivní interview a výsledky výzkumu. Výzkumného šetření se zúčastnily 3 základní školy z Ústeckého kraje, náš výzkumný vzorek tvořilo celkem 227 respondentů. Kvantitativně orientované výzkumné šetření proběhlo za využití dotazníků MARSI a RSPS2. Výsledky ukazují na korelaci mezi četností ve využívání metakognitivních strategií a všemi dimenzemi self-efficacy, zároveň byla prokázána korelace mezi hodnocením z předmětu Český jazyk a literatura a využíváním metakognitivních strategií i úrovní jednotlivých dimenzí self-efficacy.

Abstract:

The presented Master's thesis aims to verify the functionality of the MARSI (metacognitive strategy) and RSPS2 (self-efficacy) questionnaires in our socio-cultural environment. Its sub-objective focuses on verification of the link between all variables, i. e. between the metacognitive strategies and the self-efficacy in reading and the assessment of the subject Czech language and literature in pupils at the second level of primary schools. The theoretical part concentrates on the developmental characteristics of the pubescent stage and defines metacognition and self-efficacy. The practical part contains all the essentials associated with research, such as defining a research problem, determining hypotheses, characteristics of research tools and a research sample, and describing a cognitive interview and research results. Altogether, three primary schools from the Ústí nad Labem Region have participated in the research; the research sample consisted of 227 respondents. The quantitatively-oriented research survey was performed using the MARSI and RSPS2 questionnaires. The obtained results corroborate a correlation between the frequency in the use of metacognitive strategies and all dimensions of self-efficacy. Furthermore, we demonstrated a correlation between the assessment of the subject Czech language and literature and the use of metacognitive strategies and levels of individual dimensions of self-efficacy.
