Elements and principles of deliberate indeterminateness in dramatic language of Jon Fosse

Abstract:

This diploma thesis presents the dramatic work of contemporary Norwegian author Jon Fosse (*1959) through the optics of the category of deliberate indeterminateness. The work is focused on dramatic methods that integrate the aesthetic functions of the language into the process of constructing sense in the primary place. The theoretical and methodological basis, interpretation and analytical inputs in the thesis show that the principles of deliberate indeterminateness are reflected not only in the structure of texts, but they are also directly involved as themes. In the centre of our interest is not the explored concept as an isolated phenomenon, but it is explored in the context concerning the linguistic, philosophical and sociological tradition of modern thinking.

Abstract:

Predkladaná diplomová práca prezentuje dramatickú tvorbu súčasného nórskeho autora Jona Fosseho (*1959) optikou kategórie zámerne nedourčeného. Práca sústreďuje pozornosť na dramatické prostriedky, ktoré integrujú estetické funkcie jazyka do procesu konštruovania významu v primárnom rozmere. Teoreticko-metodologický základ a interpretačno-analytické vstupy v práci poukazujú, že princípy cieleného zamlčiavania sa premietajú nielen do štruktúry textov, ale sa i priamo tematizujú. V popredí nášho záujmu nestojí skúmaný koncept ako izolovaný jav, ale v kontexte lingvistickej, filozofickej a sociologickej tradície moderného myslenia.
