The Translation in Tourism

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on the topic of translating in the field of tourism by example of promotional materials of Ostrava and Brno. Tourism, translating and interpreting has become an inseparable part of our daily life. As it is known, we can say, that various professional publications deal with tourism, but my thesis will deal with the translating in tourism, with ranks as one of the less explored professional fields. The main part of this thesis is focused on interpreting of the specific vocabulary. The thesis is divided in two parts, in the theoretic and practical part. The theoretic part concetrates in tourism and translating and related concepts and definitions, which are in relationship with tourism and translating. The practical part is focused on selected tourist texts and examines their specific vocabulary.

Abstract:

Ačkoliv tato práce nese název Translace v turismu, zabývá se tato diplomová práce tématem překladu v turismu a jeho specifiky na příkladu turistických textů města Ostravy a Brna. Turismus tak jako i překládání a tlumočení je neodlučitelnou součástí našeho denního života. Lze říci, že turismem se zabývají různé odborné publikace, avšak moje práce se zabývá překladem v turismu, který patří k méně probádaným oblastem. Stěžejní částí práce je zpracování specifické slovní zásoby, která je spojená s popisem historických objektů. Celá práce se dělí na dvě hlavní části, a to jak na teoretickou tak i na praktickou. Teoretická část se koncentruje na turismus, překlad a na s nimi související pojmy a definice, které jsou s uvedenými termíny spjaty. Praktická část je uvedena analýzou vybraných turistických textů, u nichž je kladen důraz na zkoumání specifické slovní zásoby.
