Specifics of gastronomy in Wallachia

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je charakterizovat jeden z významných etnografických regionů České republiky, Valašsko. Tento region, podobně jako každý jiný region, má svou historii a liší se charakterem lidové kultury. Regiony se dále mezi sebou liší stupněm vyspělosti dané společnosti po stránce materiální, politické, společenské a duchovní. Charakteristika lidové kultury pro oblast Valašska byla dána především ekonomickými podmínkami, které nebyly vždy příznivé. Hlavní část této práce je věnována specifikám valašské gastronomie a dalším jevům, které měly významný vliv na vývoji stravování v této oblasti.

Abstract:

The aim of this work is to characterize one of the major ethnographic regions of the Czech Republic - Wallachia. This region has its own history and different character of folk culture. Regions are also distinguished by degree of maturity of the society as physical, political, social and spiritual features. Characteristics of folk culture in the area of Wallachia was given mainly by economic conditions that were not always favourable. The main part of this thesis is devoted to the specifics of the Wallachian gastronomy and other effects that had a significant influence on the development of alimentation of this area.
