Composite photography and its aesthetic value in Daniel Reynek's work

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce s názvem „Fotomontáž a její estetická hodnota v díle Daniela Reynka“ se snaží o odhalení estetické hodnoty fotomontáže. Práce vychází ze specifických vlastností fotografie v pojetí André Bazina, Rolanda Barthese a Siegfrieda Kracauera a také z postoje Noëla Carrolla k uměleckosti fotografie. Dále je zde zmíněn pohled Rogera Scrutona a jeho argumenty, kterými se snaží dokázat, že fotografie nemá umělecký potenciál. Poznatky, jež vycházejí z jednotlivých pojetí a dále přiblížení pozitivních vlastností v pojetí Tomáše Kulky a Jana Mukařovského, jsou v závěru aplikovány na konkrétní dílo. V tomto případě na dílo Daniela Reynka, představitele české fotomontáže.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis “Composite photography and its aesthetic value in Daniel Reynek´s work” aims to discover the aesthetic value of the composite photography. The basis of the thesis are specific features of the photograph in André Basin´s, Roland Barthes´s and Siegfried Kracauer´s approach and also the attitude of Noël Carroll to the artificial nature of the photograph. Roger Scruton´s viewpoint and his reasoning used for explaining photograph as no work of art are also mentioned. The findings resulting from the particular approaches and also positive features in Tomáš Kulka´s and Jan Mukařovský´s conceptions are finally applied to a particular work, in this case the work of Daniel Reynek, the representative of the Czech composite photography.
