Incidence and clinical consequences of genetic mosaicism in human embryos

Abstract:

Genetický mozaicismus je nalézán v časných stádiích embryonálního vývoje a je definován přítomností dvou a více buněčných linií tvořící plod. Je dáván do souvislosti s předčasnými porody, potraty a neúspěšnými pokusy o implantaci v průběhu léčby neplodnosti. První kapitoly jsou věnovány rozboru chromozomových aberací, mozaicismu a mechanismům jeho vzniku. Další části práce popisují fyziologický výskyt mozaicismu s jeho možnými patologickými dopady s důrazem na placentární mozaicismus. V posledních statích se práce zaměřuje na současné poznatky o výskytu mozaiek napříč embryonálním vývojem od stádia zygoty po blastocystu schopnou implantace.

Abstract:

Genetic mosaicism is found in the early stages of embryonic development. It is defined by presence of two or more cell lines constituting the fetus. It has been associated with premature births, miscarriages and failed attempts to implant embryo during infertility treatment. First chapters are devoted to the analysis of chromosomal aberrations, mosaicism and the mechanisms of its creation. The following part of this work describes the physiological presence of mosaicism and its possible pathological implications with emphasis on placental mosaicism. Last part is focused on the current knowledge of the incidence of mosaics through the embryonic development from the zygote to blastocyst capable of implantation.
