Recreational hinterland of Brno

Abstract:

Rekreační zázemí města tvoří část okolí, ve kterém obyvatelé města realizují svůj zájem na účasti na příměstské rekreaci. Krátkodobá rekreace se velmi často uskutečňuje v zázemí měst, proto ji můžeme považovat za hlavní zájem předkládané diplomové práce. Jednou z nejcennějších hodnot města Brna je atraktivita a dostupnost přírodního zázemí. Jeho okolí je považováno za jedno z nejkrásnějších v České republice. Tato diplomová práce je zaměřena na vymezení rozsahu rekreačního zázemí města Brna. První teoretická část se zabývá přehledem literatury, teoretickými přístupy a významnými publikacemi k hlavnímu tématu práce. V podstatě se věnuje tradiční geografické deskripci sledovaného fenoménu. Za hlavní úkol práce lze považovat praktickou (druhou) část. Pomocí tří metod – konstrukce izochron časové dostupnosti, lokalizace chat a dotazníkový průzkum – popsat, analyzovat, zhodnotit a interpretovat rozlohu rekreačního zázemí města Brna. Závěr práce kriticky hodnotí domněnky a teze významných geografů o prostorové lokalizaci rekreačního zázemí.

Abstract:

Recreational hinterland of a city is the extent of city surroundings visited by the citizens for the purpose of recreational activities and pastime. Short-term recreation is very often practiced within the hinterland of the city and thus can be considered the main subject of this diploma thesis. One of the most valuable features of Brno is its attractiveness and proximity of natural landmarks. Its vicinity is considered one of the most beautiful in the Czech Republic. This diploma thesis aims to define the extent of Brno’s recreational hinterland. The first – theoretical part – discusses used literature, theoretical approach and noteworthy publications regarding this subject. It introduces the traditional geographical description of the observed phenomenon. The main objective of this diploma thesis comprises the second – practical part. There are three methods, namely definition of isochrones for travel times, localization of cottages and a survey campaign, used to describe, analyze, assess and interpret the extent of the recreational hinterland of Brno city. The conclusion critically evaluates the assumptions and beliefs of the hinterland’s extent, which have been proposed by key geographers.
