Evolution of apprenticeship education in the north-western region of the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Od starověkých civilizací do současnosti můžeme sledovat snahu o vytvoření systému vzdělávání, který odpovídal potřebám, ale velmi často i stavu ekonomiky konkrétní společnosti. Část národní elity směřovala prostřednictvím univerzitního vzdělání do sféry filozofie, medicíny a astronomie a práva. Důraz se též kladl na přípravu ekonomů, zástupců správních institucí či velitelů vojsk. Je zajímavé, že od počátku středověku, kdy vznikala za podpory panovníka města, se objevuje poměrně efektivní systém přípravy na výkon řemeslné činnosti. Cechovní systém zajišťoval kontinuitu určité živnosti vzděláváním zástupců po sobě jdoucích generací. Nástup průmyslové výroby na jedné straně zrušil cechy, ale technický pokrok si vyžádal stále větší počet pracovníků, kteří by byli zruční a specializovaní na určité řemeslo. V devadesátých letech 20. století se setkáváme s velmi radikálním snížením zájmu o studium učňovských oborů, což se již nyní projevuje nedostatkem řemeslníků na pracovním trhu. Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na historickou analýzu vývoje učňovského školství a na vyhodnocení současného stavu v této vzdělávací úrovni s rozborem možných příčin a hledáním potenciálních řešení.

Abstract:

From ancient civilizations to the present, we can observe the effort to create an education system that met the needs, but very often the state of the economy of a particular society. Part of the national elite went through the university education to the sphere of philosophy, medicine and astronomy and law. Emphasis was also placed on the training of economists, representatives of administrative institutions and commanders of troops. It is interesting that since the beginning of the Middle Ages, when it was founded with the support of the ruler of the city, a relatively effective system of preparation for the craft activity has appeared. The guild system ensured the continuity of a certain trade by educating representatives of successive generations. On the one hand, the advent of industrial production abolished guilds, but technical progress required an increasing number of workers who were skilled and specialized in a particular craft. In the 1990s, there was a very radical decrease in interest in apprenticeship studies, which is already manifested by the lack of craftsmen in the labor market. This bachelor thesis is focused on the historical analysis of the development of apprenticeship education and on the evaluation of the current state in this educational level with the analysis of possible causes and the search for potential solutions.
