Finding the causes of successful reorganisation in corporate insolvency: a case study from the metalworking industry

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce je zaměřena na analýzu úspěšných a neúspěšných reorganizací v odvětví kovoobrábění. Hlavním cílem je pozorovat u vybraných společností faktory stanovené zejména na základě literární rešerše, které mohou mít vliv na úspěšnost reorganizace, porovnat je v rámci skupin úspěšných a neúspěšných reorganizací a mezi těmito skupinami a následně určit, které z těchto faktorů mohou mít na reorganizace ve zvoleném odvětví vliv. Výsledkem práce je souhrn faktorů, u kterých nebyl pozorován vliv na reorganizaci, souhrn faktorů se slabým pozorovaným vlivem a soubor faktorů s významným pozorovaným vlivem. Ze závěrů práce vyplývá, že mezi nejvýznamnější faktory se řadí typ úpadku, délka reorganizace, změna vlastníka, stáří a velikost společnosti, účast ve skupině, zadluženost a rentabilita vlastního kapitálu. Práce byla zpracována formou případové studie a je členěna do tří základních částí.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on the analysis of successful and unsuccessful reorganizations in the metalworking industry. The main objective is to observe, for selected companies, the factors determined mainly through a literature review that may influence the success of reorganizations, compare them within the groups of successful and unsuccessful reorganizations and between these groups and then determine which of these factors may influence reorganizations in the selected industry. As a result, the paper presents a set of factors that were not observed to have an impact on reorganization, a set of factors with a moderate observed impact and a set of factors with a significant observed impact. The result of the thesis shows that the most important factors are type of bankruptcy, length of reorganization, change of ownership, age and size of the company, participation in the corporate group, debt ratio and return on equity. The thesis was prepared in the form of a case study and is divided into three main parts.
