Náklady predstavujú peňažné ocenenie spotreby podnikových výrobných faktorov vynaložených podnikom na jeho výkony a ostatné účelovo vynaložené náklady spojené s jeho činnosťou. Každý podnik sa snaží minimalizovať náklady a maximálne zvýšiť svoje výnosy, čím zabezpečuje dostatočnú rentabilitu svojej činnosti.
