The causes of the high inflation rate in the Czech Republic during 2020-2023

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na důvody vysoké míry inflace. V práci je nejdříve vysvětlena inflace z teoretického hlediska, kde je popsána problematika měření inflace, příčin vzniku inflace a jejich dopadů. Poté jsou tyto teoretické poznatky aplikovány na konkrétní situaci vývoje inflace v České republice. Vývoj míry inflace je analyzován z pohledu vybraných sektorů národního hospodářství. Důraz je kladen zejména na objasnění toho, jaké faktory a jaké proinflační stimuly v jakých sektorech způsobily enormní nárůst míry inflace ve sledovaném období. Poslední kapitola je věnována tomu, jak na tyto proinflační stimuly reagovala Česká národní banka svou měnovou politikou.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on the reasons of high inflation rate. The thesis at first explains inflation from a theoretical point of view, describing the measurement of inflation, the reasons for inflation and its effects. Then these theoretical findings are applied to the actual situation of inflation in the Czech Republic. The inflation rate is analysed from the point of view of selected sectors of the national economy. The focus on is finding out what factors and what inflationary stimulus in which sectors have caused the dramatic increase of the inflation rate in the analysed period. The last chapter is focused on how the Czech National Bank has reacted to these inflationary pressures with its monetary policy.
