The Understanding of Freedom in the Philosophy of Karl Jaspers

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá pojetím svobody německého filozofa Karla Jasperse. Díla, která tato práce zkoumá, jsou: Úvod do filosofie, Filosofická víra, Šifry transcendence a Otázka viny. Práce nejprve zkoumá současný diskurs pojmu svoboda. Poté ukazuje události 20. století v Evropě. Třetí kapitola popisuje život a dílo Karla Jasperse. Následně dochází k analýze pojmu svoboda v Jaspersově dílech a ke srovnání současného diskursu s pojetím Karla Jasperse.

Abstract:

This Bachelor thesis is focused on the conception of freedom in philosophy of german philosopher Karl Jaspers. Main works: Introduction to Philosophy, Philosophical Faith, Ciphers of transcendence, The Question of Guilt. The thesis begins by analysing the current view of the term freedom. Then there's described the history of Europe in 20th century. Third chapter is about Jaspers' life and work. The last chapter analyses the conception of freedom in Jaspers' writings and in the end of thesis there's comparation of current view of freedom and Karl Jaspers' conception.
