To the diminutives in the private correspondence

Abstract:

Bakalářská diplomová práce je zaměřena na analýzu deminutiv vyskytujících se v soukromé česky psané korespondenci. Analyzováno je celkem 300 dopisů z korpusů soukromé korespondence KSK-dopisy a KSK111, jejichž autory jsou lidé ve věku do 30 let. Cílem práce je excerpovat ze dvou chronologicky vzdálených vzorků korespondenčních textů (obsahující dopisy ze začátku 20. století a z přelomu 20. a 21. století) všechny deminutivní formy s kvantitativně i kvalitativně modifikačním příznakem a zároveň deminutiva lexikalizovaná, popsat jejich formální a významovou stránku i pragmatické aspekty užití v tomto specifickém typu komunikace a vytvořit soupis všech zjištěných jednotek doplněný elementárními lexikograficky využitelnými informacemi. K sekundárním cílům práce patří zhodnocení významu korespondenčních textů pro výzkum deminutiv, porovnání frekvence výskytu a charakteru deminutiv v časově diferenčních vzorcích a okrajově též zmapování reflexe deminutiv v základních českých výkladových slovnících.

Abstract:

This thesis refers to the analysis of diminutives that are part of Czech private correspondence. Altogether, 300 letters from corpuses of private correspondence (KSK-dopisy and KSK111) are analysed and the authors of these letters are young people aged to 30. The aim of this thesis is to excerpt all diminutive forms with their qualitative and quantitative characteristics and also all formal diminutives from two samples of correspondence texts which are chronologically distant one from another (the samples contain the letters from the beginning of the 20th century and the letters from the turn of the 20th and 21st century), to describe their formal, semantic and pragmatic aspects in this unique type of communication and then to create a list of all ascertained units. This list is accompanied by elementary lexicographic information that could be utilizable for future research. Secondary aims are to evaluate the relevance of correspondence texts for the research of diminutives, to compare the frequency of occurrence and to compare the character of diminutives from these samples which are different in the terms of time and then marginally map the occurrence of diminutives in basic monolingual dictionaries of Czech language.
