Vergence and accommodation

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá procesem akomodace a vergence. Nejdříve se práce věnuje každému z procesů zvlášť a následně popisuje jejich vzájemný vztah. První část práce se zaměřuje na popis a anatomii struktur oka, které se na procesu akomodace podílí a následně na refrakční vady spojené s akomodací. Další kapitola je věnována definici akomodace, jejím vývojem a mechanismem. Dále jsou zmíněny metody vyšetření akomodace a různé poruchy, které v závislosti na akomodaci nastávají. Další z kapitol se zabývá popisem vergence. Na začátek jsou zmíněny okohybné svaly, které vergenci zprostředkovávají. Kapitola následně popisuje složky vergence, její vyšetření a různé anomálie, které u vergence můžou nastat. Poslední část práce je zaměřená na vztah mezi vergencí a akomodací. Nejdříve je popsána akomodační konvergence vyjádřena AC/A poměrem a poté konvergenční akomodace, kterou udává CA/C poměr.

Abstract:

This work deals with the process of accommodation and vergence. First, the work is devoted to each of the processes separately and then describes their mutual relationship. The first part of the thesis focuses on the description and anatomy of the eye structures involved in the accommodation process and subsequently on the refractive errors associated with accommodation. The next chapter is devoted to the definition of accommodation, its development and mechanism. Furthermore, there are mentioned methods of examination of accommodation and various disorders that occur depending on accommodation. The next chapter deals with the description of vergence. At the beginning there are mentioned the extraocular muscles, which mediate vergence. The chapter then describes the components of vergence, its examination and various anomalies that may occur in vergence. The last part is focused on the relationship between vergence and accommodation. First, accommodative convergence which is expressed in terms of the AC/A ratio and then the convergence accommodation, which is indicated by the CA/C ratio.
