Interior Sculptural Decoration in the Piarist Church of the Holy Trinity and the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Prievidza

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the interior sculptural decoration of the Piarist Church of the Holy Trinity and the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Prievidza, which was built in the 18th century. The author of the sculptural decoration should be a sculptor Dionýz Ignác Staneti. The main objective of this thesis is to determine or deny the authorship based on a detailed stylistic analysis. Furthermore, the thesis describes the history of the church, the iconography of the interior sculptures and the relationship of Piarist Order and the principal founder in Prievidza to the Baroque art.

Abstract:

Táto bakalárska práca za zaoberá vnútornou sochárskou výzdobou piaristického Kostola Najsvätejšej Trojice a Nanebovzatia Panny Márie v Prievidzi, ktorý bol postavený v 18. storočí. Ako autor sochárskej výzdoby sa uvádza sochár Dionýz Ignác Staneti. Hlavným cieľom práce je na základe podrobnej štýlovej analýzy určiť alebo vyvrátiť toto autorstvo. Okrem toho práca popisuje históriu kostola, ikonografiu vnútorných sochárskych diel a vzťah piaristov a hlavnej fundátorky k barokovému umeniu.
