Jiří Trnka and his contribution to literature for children and youth

Abstract:

Bakalářská diplomová práce se věnuje literární tvorbě Jiřího Trnky (1912–1969), jenž je znám především jako ilustrátor, scénárista a tvůrce loutek a českého animovaného filmu. Práce se zaměřuje na Trnkovu tvorbu pro děti, která zahrnuje velké množství ilustrací, proto je první část práce zaměřena na ilustraci jako jednu z cest, jíž může využít dětský recipient pro interpretaci literárního díla. Stěžejní částí práce je kapitola věnující se jedinému literárnímu dílu Jiřího Trnky s názvem Zahrada (1962). Toto dílo je představeno v kontextu žánru autorská ilustrovaná kniha a v kontextu české autorské pohádky 60. let minulého století.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the literary work of Jiří Trnka (1912–1969), who is primarily known as an illustrator, scriptwriter, puppets creator and czech animated films creator. The thesis focuses on Trnka´s work for children, which includes lots of illustrations. Therefore the first part of the thesis focuses on illustrations as a way of children´s interpretation of the literary work. The main part of the thesis is a chapter devoted to the only Jiří Trnka´s literary work called Zahrada (1962). This book is presented in the context of the genre of author´s illustrated book and the context of czech author´s fairy tale in 60s of the 20th century.
