Abstract:

Bakalářská práce analyzuje vlivy, které formovaly náboženské, politické a občanskoprávní názory Afroamerického vůdce, Malcolma X. První část mé práce zkoumá hlavní faktory, které ovlivnily Malcolma X- od politické situace v USA během Malcolmova dětství, politické aktivity jeho rodičů, jeho mládí naplněném kriminalitou, časem stráveným ve vězení, během kterého se přidal do hnutí Nation of Islam, dekadou, kterou prožil jako náměstek této organizace, postupným zhoršováním vztahů s vůdcem Nation of Islam Elijahem Muhammadem, Malcolmovou poutí do Mekky, která je jedním z pilířů Islámského náboženství a jeho tolerantnějšími postoji, které si osvojil během krátkého období mezi jeho vystoupení z organizace Nation of Islam a jeho násilným zavražděním. Druhá část mé teze projednává vývoj názorů týkajících se čtyř témat, na která se Malcolm zaměřoval během svého života - islám, křesťanství a ve vztahu k bílé rase, černý nacionalismus a sebeobranou s použitím násilí.

Abstract:

The thesis maps and analyzes the influential factors that shaped the religious, political, and civil rights attitudes of Malcolm X, an American black leader. The first section of this thesis examines all the major influences on Malcolm X – from the political situation in the United States of America during his childhood, his parent’s political activity, his criminal youth, his prison experience, where he joined the Nation of Islam, the decade he strived as the minister of the Nation of Islam, the gradual deterioration of the relationship between him and Elijah Muhammad, the leader of the Nation of Islam, Malcolm’s hajj, Muslim pilgrimage, and his more tolerant views from the short period between the exit from the Nation of Islam and his violent assassination. The second section discusses the evolution of the four topics that he focused on – Islam, Christianity and the white man, black nationalism, and the violent self-defense – during his lifetime due to the influences analyzed in the first section.
