The thesis investigates costs as an inherent aspect of corporate business activities, and analyzes in detail the cost management activities which companies may undertake to effectively administer their expenses. Based on the theoretical findings related to cost management and costing systems, in the practical part of the research, the thesis focuses on Czech Bakery, an enterprise located in Prague. The author investigates in detail the company’s cost management and costing practices, and reveals their main advantages and drawbacks. The author also provides recommendations for the company to optimize its costs, and elaborates the financial justification of the proposed project. The thesis should be of interest to researchers investigating the topic of cost management and costing in corporate business activities
