Implementation of Project Management in SME

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá implementací projektového řízení v podniku, což má velký přínos pro zlepšení podnikatelských aktivit organizace. Cílem je navrhnout vhodná opatření k případnému zlepšení způsobů realizace zkoumaných problémů v praxi výrobního podniku. Je stanovena hypotéza, že implementace jedné z metod řízení projektu je pro podnik výhodnější než implementace jiné, a že zavedení nového podnikového systému do společnosti pomocí projektového řízení bude přínosné pro efektivní fungování firmy. V práci jsou analyzovány metody řízení projektu, životní cyklus projektu s důrazem na plánování a potřebné analýzy. Jsou popsány metody řízení rizik, financí, zainteresovaných stran v projektovém managementu. Práce porovnává metody project managmentu – PRINCE2 a IPMA a stanoví nejvhodnější z nich pro realizaci prvního projektu ve vybrané společnosti. Dále pojednává o zavedení procesu řízení smluv v oddělení nákupu. Je provedena analýza výchozího stavu problému ve společnosti. Jsou vypracovány všechny potřebné náležitosti plánování projektu jakožto SOW, Logframe, WBS, OBS, vytvořena strategie řízení zainteresovaných stran, rizik. Práce také popisuje, jak projekt byl uskutečněn, problémy, se kterými se řešitelský tým setkal. Provádí se hodnocení implementace projektového managementu, a na jeho základě je vypracováno doporučení pro další rozvoj. Pro naplnění cílů práce byly použity metody analýzy, analogie, pozorování, srovnání.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with implementation of project management in the company, which has a great contribution to improve the business activities of the organization. The aim is to propose appropriate measures for possible improvement of the ways of realization of the problems examined in the practice of the enterprise. The assumption is that the implementation of one of the project management methods is more advantageous for the enterprise than the implementation of another, and that the introduction of a new corporate system into the company through project management will be beneficial to the efficient operation of the company. The project analyses methods of project management, project lifecycle with emphasis on planning and necessary analysis. Risk management methods, finance, stakeholder management are described. The thesis compares project management methods - PRINCE2 and IPMA and determines the most suitable ones for realization of the first project in selected company. Further, the thesis deals with the introduction of the contract management process in the purchasing department. An analysis of the starting state of the problem in the company is performed. All the necessary elements of planning the project, such as SOW, Logframe, WBS, OBS, have been developed as also risk management and stakeholder management strategies. The thesis also describes how the project was implemented, the problems encountered by the team. An evaluation of the implementation of project management is carried out and, on the basis of this, recommendations are proposed for further development. The methods of analysis, analogy, observation and comparison were used to fulfil the objectives of the thesis.
