Diplomová práce se zabývá nejvýznamnější prozaickou prací Františka Xavera Svobody - románovou kronikou „Rozkvět“ (1898, přepr. 1912). Práce je rozčleněna do tří částí. První část přibližuje literárněhistorický kontext druhé poloviny devatenáctého století a přelomu devatenáctého a dvacátého století, období klíčového pro vznik daného textu. The thesis deals with the most significat prosaic work by František Xaver Svoboda – a fictional chronicle "Rozkvět“ (1898, remake 1912). The work is divided into three parts. The first part focuses on the literary context of the second half of the nineteenth century and at the break of the 19th and the 20th century, a key period for the inception of the text.
